Well, I am still here at work today because we do not get out until noontime, but, really, what can I do today?  There really aren’t any customers to deal with it.  So, I am researching how to transfer my bookmarks from one computer to another and stumbled up a place where I can put all of my bookmarks in one place. 

The great thing about this site, Diigo.com, is that I can have all my bookmarks store on the Internet and it does not matter what computer that I am on.  Thus, if I am roaming, which I often am, I will have my bookmarks available whereever I happen to be. 

This raises bookmarks to a whole new convenient level.  Not only that, you can see other people’s bookmarks.  Thus, if someone is involved in a topic that is one you enjoy, you can find all of their bookmarks and participate in discussions with them.

All in all, it makes for a very interesting and convenient tool.  I recommend to everyone to check Diigo…you probably find it very useful!!!

Today, Friday, December 18th, my company is being very unfriendly.  They are blocking our Facebook access at work.

Now, I sympathize with some people who write that, "My Kids Want To Use Facebook At School" but in the workplace, we are grown-ups so in my opinion this is rather ridiculous.

So, just to get them back, today at work I am not going to work.  Rather, I am investigating how to unblock Facebook at work so that I can still access Facebook even though, technically–quite literally, I am not supposed to be doing this.

It turns out that I am not alone in this issue.  Many people face the same thing and so a whole industry has cropped up around the idea of accessing blocked websites. 

This whole workaround is something known as proxy servers.  Proxy Servers allow you to appear like you are coming from somewhere else.  To use these, I can simply reconfigure my browser and off I go. 

Argghhh, it appears that I cannot reconfigure my browser at work–they’ve locked it! 

Dammit, these guys are pretty good but I’m better and I’ll find a way.  Buying beers for the tech guys always helps

I’m going to keep this quick. It’s discouraging when you cannot find what you want right away. The research results thus far are promising. I wondered who else might want to know about who makes the best LCD TV. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so this is more important than you think. Would there be any hidden items I had to buy?. I was wondering where I could find a list of the 10 Best Digital Cameras. Some of the camera literature is a litte confusing.

When Christmas time came, it was time to get a new iPod.

I got one and I am here to report on it.  Next to my new GPS, I now classify these items officially as "items that I cannot live without".

What did I buy?  I bought the iPod Touch 32gb.

It’s like a computer in my pocket.  Except this computer entertains me all the time.   It also feels like a toy, not a computer.

I play video games on it all the time and in my driving game I use the device itself as the steering wheel.  It’s quite amazing and prices on the iPod Touch 32gb are totally coming down.

Today, I am going to pining about products that I dig.  And the first product that I want to talk about is GPS.

WHAT AN AMAZING TECHNOLOGY!

Who would think that a GPS is something that you need?  That is what I thought before I bought mine.  And now?  Well, the cool factor simply blows away everything.  

On the day that I was thinking of buying, I did my research because I wanted to get the best GPS.  I did lots of research. 

The end result after my research was learning about a product called the Garmin Nuvi.  I read this Garmin Nuvi review and then checked in with Consumer Digest.

Everything indicated that this was the best product.

So, I bought it and haven’t looked back since.

I recommend to everyone to get a GPS…you’ll never get lost again!
